Open Mainframe Project members Vicom Infinity and Broadcom are hosting IBM Z Council in Cincinnati, OH.
This session will update attendees on IBM’s latest IBM Z hardware developments and new Security, Data and Management solutions.
We’ll kick off the session with a presentation by Rich Hornor from IBM Z Offering Management as he introduces us to the IBM z15 – the latest generation of IBM Z. With new industry-first capabilities, IBM z15 supports your digital transformation providing superior security and resiliency for mission-critical cloud workloads.
Next, Rich will do a deeper dive into one of the z15’s most exciting features – Data Privacy Passports. The movement of data between partners and third parties is often the root cause of data breaches. This capability provides transparent, end-to-end, data-level protection and privacy. Now, you can encrypt your data, grant and revoke access to it, and maintain control of it – even as it moves off the system of record.
Then, Jerome Gilbert will discuss Db2 DevOps. Many organizations are moving to create a strategy around continuous integration and continuous delivery, even for data. Db2 for z/OS has developed solutions to address developers’ desires for speed and the freedom to try things out. Db2 DevOps makes the platform much more attractive for developers without giving up control of the Db2 development environment.
Finally, Steve Bohn will introduce Zowe. Zowe is a project under the Linux Foundation Collaborative Project, the Open Mainframe Project, intended to bridge the divide between modern enterprise applications and the mainframe. Learn what this means for your organization, and for all Z companies around the world.
