The Linux Dsistributions Working Group oversees the health and maintenance of the various Linux distributions s390x ports and to ensure that it is a supported architecture for all available Linux distributions in the community.

In order to achieve this, the group works collaboratively on main concerns and achievements that the distributions share, and work together to support new contributors and make sure they have the infrastructure needed.

The group already has representatives from AlmaLinux, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, Red Hat, Rocky Linux, SUSE and Ubuntu.

Goals:
  • Create a place to collaborate across Linux Distributions via Open Mainframe Project mailing list, wiki, meetings and chat.
  • Provide a specific time for distributions to request for help on their port through regular, public team meetings.
  • Ensure any and all infrastructure required is available for supporting the ports.
  • Facilitate better support from IBM to fix s390x specific bugs.
