The creation, curation and consumption of Mainframe education happens all the time, but how do you bring existing efforts together in a way that benefits the Mainframe community, reduces critical skills gaps, and makes existing resources readily available?
Mainframe Open Education(MOE) is a community partnership that focuses on ‘open sourcing’ mainframe learning roadmaps and community knowledge transfer. The mission is to offer all mainframe users a platform to cultivate skill onboarding that is most critical to future hires and to allow for knowledge sharing and community contribution. Check out the GitBook Workspace here.
The project is managed by leaders from Broadcom, Kyndryl, IBM, VCU and University of Johannesburg.
Kelle Veverka, Program Manager, Education, at Broadcom and Pat Stanard, US Chief Mainframe Architect at Kyndryl, offer an overview of Mainframe Open Education and how to foster the stewardship of education resources in this Open Mainframe Summit video.
