Andreas Krebbel, a Linux on zSystems AI and Compiler Developer at IBM Research and Development GmbH, presented an introduction to the AI hardware capabilities of the latest generation of IBM zSystems – the IBM z16 – at Open Mainframe Summit 2022. He showed how these capabilities are exploited in open source AI frameworks on Linux on zSystems and what is currently being worked on.
