Getting the most out of the Latest Features in Linux and KVM on IBM Z and LinuxONE

Stefan Raspl is the Product Owner of I/O development for Linux on IBM Z and LinuxONE at IBM Research and Development in the Boeblingen Lab, Germany. Within his role, he leads the development of device drivers and associated utilities for networking and storage facilities on the platform. Past activities at IBM include various roles in software development for KVM, z/VM, Content Management and Data Mining software for DB2.

Stefan was at GSE UK, which took place at Whittlebury Hall in the United Kingdom on October 30 – November 2, and gave two presentations. The first was “Getting the most out of the Latest Features in Linux and KVM on IBM Z and LinuxONE.” Watch the video below or click here (Getting-the-most-out-of-the-Latest-Features-in-Linux-and-KVM-on-IBM-Z-and-LinuxONE.pdf) to check out the PDF of the presentation.

The video will start with a brief overview of all available Linux distributions on the IBM Z and LinuxONE platforms and then go into an overview of the existing and upcoming features that are currently under development by IBM and the open source community. The presentation will address both, IBM Z-specific features, as well as platform-independent developments which are relevant to Linux on IBM Z, and will end with the latest news on KVM on the platform.
